Pastor Mark's Testimony

Mad Dog's Road to Freedom
The steel bars of the Florida State Prison were a clear picture of Mad Dog's troubled heart. While facing 30 years for a crime he committed, freedom was just a dream.

A pastor within the prison ministry, who visited every week, kept trying to reach Mad Dog. Mad Dog was not interested. He'd throw his blanket over his head when the pastor came by his cell. After all, what could this man of the cloth know about him and his problems, or the depth of his pain? How could he offer him any help? Jesus, yeah, right!

The Truth will Set You Free
Nearly a year had passed and Mad Dog was lonely. No visitors, no letters, no human contact except guards and fellow inmates. The pastor was a faithful visitor. What was it that made this man come here week after week?

"Son, I know you aren't sleeping. Wouldn't you like to hear how you can be set free?"

Free? Now that interested Mad Dog. "Come in, Pastor."

"The Bible says in John 8:32, 'And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,' the Pastor told Mad Dog."

What Truth is That?
"What truth is that, Pastor? What could possibly set me free?" asked Mad Dog.

"The truth of Jesus Christ, son. He came to earth as a sacrifice for the sins of man. His blood on the cross served as the offering that God the Father would accept for the darkness in our hearts. His precious blood cleanses us white as snow. If we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Bible says that we shall be saved."

Free in Deed!
Mad Dog was set free that day. His heart knew a freedom that couldn't be imprisoned by steel bars. He was forgiven! His conscience was clean! He was a new man!

The state of Florida wasn't as forgiving as Jesus, but God worked a miracle and the 30€“year sentence became 3 years instead.

Real Freedom for All
Today, Mad Dog has become Pastor Mark and is serving his wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ, every day.

You too, can know this awesome freedom. Confess your sins and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life. HeÕll come to live on the inside of you, creating in you a clean and free heart, a new creation.

Salvation is real freedom, no matter what the circumstances you find yourself in!
